Bulgarian RIVIERA

A pearl of nature

Bulgarian Riviera vacation spots and regions

The Bulgarian coast, also known as the Bulgarian Riviera or Gold Coast, has now become a holiday magnet. There are beautiful bays and sandy beaches scattered along the Black Sea. In the last 50 years, many holiday resorts with hotels and other holiday accommodation have emerged along the coast, which are occupied by holidaymakers from all over Europe in the summer. Depending on your holiday requirements, you can make yourself comfortable in one of the holiday resorts: either in the middle of historic buildings that exude authentic flair, or in purely tourist resorts that impress with service and entertainment.

The north of the Bulgarian Riviera

In the northern part of the coast stretches the Balkan Mountains, which give the peninsula its name. The foothills of the mountain system extend all the way to the coast. At the foot of this mountainous landscape you will find one of Bulgaria's most popular vacation spots, the port city of Varna.

Color

Where the famous Orient Express once stopped, many holidaymakers now lounge on the beaches every year. Many hotels and other holiday accommodations have now settled in the city of Varna to cater to sun-hungry holidaymakers in the summer months. The former port city, where fishing and trading took place, has developed into a true holiday paradise in the north of the Bulgarian Riviera. You should visit the harbor at least once during your Bulgaria holiday to try the freshly caught fish.

The south of the Bulgarian Riviera

Although Varna is popular with summer vacationers, the real center of the Bulgarian Riviera lies in the south of the Black Sea coast. Here things are sometimes historical, like in Nessebar, sometimes wet and cheerful, like in Sonnnestrand, or cultural, like in Burgas. If you want all three on your vacation, you can also easily take trips to the surrounding towns.

Burgas

Burgas can be described as the all-round talent of the Bulgarian Riviera: archaeological sites and historical buildings are located in the middle of a lake landscape and yet also on the coast of the Black Sea. Comfort lovers will also get their money's worth when they pamper themselves in the restaurants and roll the dice in the casinos. On the long sandy beaches you can relax from all the gluttony and work on your tan.

Nessebar

Not far from Burgas is another important city on the Gold Coast of Bulgaria. Nessebar was founded in ancient times by the Thracians and is located on a rock in the Bay of Burgas. The old town is something very special because it lies on a small peninsula and is only connected to the Bulgarian mainland by a causeway. The buildings have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, which is why you shouldn't miss a visit to the historic old town.

Sunny Beach

Most people think of endless partying when they hear the name of the place Sunny Beach. You can definitely do that here too, but also more! Families as well as school leavers like to come to the tourist town on the Bulgarian Riviera. Water sports, delicious food and everything else that makes a holidaymaker's heart beat faster ensure that there is something for everyone here. In the evening, with a nice tan, you go to the city's clubs or to a restaurant to enjoy the sunset.
